Position Summary:

Manages, directs and coordinates overall plant operations. Through subordinate supervisors and managers assures production objectives are meet within cost and quality standards.

Responsibilities of Position:

  1. Assures that organizational production objectives are met.
  2. Controls quality, cost, warehousing, receiving, shipping and manufacturing throughout the plant.
  3. Oversees the maintenance of all plant buildings and equipment including security and protection.
  4. Participates in plant organizational and operational planning consistent with the overall organizational objectives.
  5. Reviews and approves actions regarding pay, people, and costs.
  6. Represents the organization in the community and promotes the goodwill and interests of the organization throughout the community.
  7. Performs such individual assignments as the supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  8. Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department and ensures adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality.
  9. May lead and direct the work of others.
  10. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  11. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

  9. Self-directed with a high degree of self- motivation.
  10. Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  11. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Experience Requirements:

  1. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, techniques, methods, and disciplined in their application.
  2. Demonstrated experience of influencing across multiple functions located within one site and across multiple site locations
  3. Working familiarity of OEM Automotive quality systems, including IATF 16949 requirements

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

  1. Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods.
  2. Regularly travels to plant, vendor, and customer sites worldwide.

Working Conditions:

  1. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.
  2. Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
  3. Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
  4. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC.
  5. Works within an automotive components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business or one or more of the engineering sciences.
